Amber's journey at Medtronic began with a contingent worker role, where she observed new team members joining at various times, creating a dynamic work environment. Although the initial phase was a bit overwhelming, with the need to learn computer systems and processes, Amber found solace in the structured and organized work atmosphere. With 23 years of experience working with children, Amber's transition to Medtronic marked a positive change in her career. Her supervisor initiated the transition process in May, and after submitting her resume, Amber received an email offer in August. It took approximately three weeks from the initial offer to complete the process.

Amber noted that Medtronic treated its employees exceptionally well, evident through events like "Rock the Creek" food trucks and giveaways, including one where a colleague gifted her a jacket as a token of appreciation after just one week.

Amber offered valuable advice for individuals in similar situations, emphasizing the importance of patience, humility, and self-learning. She encouraged others not to rush the process, as learning something new can be overwhelming at times. Additionally, Amber reminded individuals to exercise patience, particularly when they witness others
being hired before them, recognizing that timing and budget constraints play a role.

Lastly, Amber shared some intriguing personal connections to Medtronic. She mentioned that a good friend had a Medtronic pacemaker, which played a vital role in an open-heart surgery. This revelation was met with amazement. Furthermore, she discovered that even her neighbor had a Medtronic device, highlighting how
mentioning her workplace affiliation seemed to create connections and shared experiences with others.

Amber's journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and the sense of community within Medtronic, an organization she now looks forward to working for, even when she didn't initially expect to.
